I was born in Belize formally British Honduras in 1951. I had a wonderful childhood and moved to New York at the age of 9. My artistic journey started one summer when I discovered my mothers sewing machine in the hall closet. I started to shop the nearby fabric store and taught myself to sew. The winter came and my mother and I moved to Los Angeles. I continued to try my hand ay sewing, getting better as time went on. At the age of 12 I made my first wedding dress. Using only measurements given to me by the mother of the bride. After finishing my last 6 month of Jr. High in Los Angeles, I moved to Montemorellos, Mexico. I attended Boarding School there for two years before being transferred to Col Pac for the following two years. Each summer I would co back to Los Angeles, Ca to spend time with family. At the age of 36 I was diagnosed with SLE Lupus. I was only given a few months to live. I woke up from a coma, survived countless attacks on my immune system, surgeries and set backs. I have two beautiful daughters and 7 Grandchildren and 1 great grandson. During my 60 years of sewing i have made Wedding Gowns, Prom Dresses, Afrocentric clothing and crafts. Sewing was always a hobby and a passion of mine while working in the corporate world. It has given me a drive to live and push forward during my most difficult days. This part of my life I decided I wanted to take my passion and love for sewing and share it with the world. This is a sneak peak into that world. Thank you for joining me in this part of my journey.
